The ECNL College Impact – Big East Conference

RICHMOND, VA (November 6, 2017) – With ECNL Alums making up 60% of the entire Big East in 2017, and over 65% of the conference’s individual honorees, the ECNL College Impact on the Big East is overwhelming. The ECNL College Impact series catalogs the incredible impact of ECNL Alums on collegiate women’s soccer every year. In 2017, once again, ECNL Alums are dominating the landscape in conferences all over the country.

The ECNL College Impact for the Big East includes all players currently active on Big East rosters:

  • 162 ECNL Alums are currently playing in the Big East Conference – nearly 60% of the total players in the Conference.
  • Over 60% of the 2017 Big East freshman class were ECNL Alums.
  • Big East Offensive Player of the Year (Paige Monaghan), Big East Midfielder of the Year (Rachel Corboz), Goalkeeper of the Year (Arielle Schechtman) and Big East Co-Freshman of the Year (Shelby Hogan) are an ECNL Alums.
  • 8 of the 11 players on both the of the 2017 Big East First Team and Big East All-Freshman Team are ECNL Alums – over 65% of the Big East Conference honorees are ECNL Alum.

The Big East Conference includes Butler University, Creighton University, DePaul University, Georgetown University, Marquette University, Providence College, Seton Hall University, St. John’s College, Villanova University and Xavier University.

With ECNL Alums constituting the majority of the conference and the majority of conference honorees, it is clear where the future Big East stars are playing youth soccer.
