AYW Spotlight | Carolina Elite Soccer Academy
RICHMOND, VA (December 21, 2016) – The ECNL and the Amazing Young Women movement is dedicated to showcasing females that have helped shape the league into the top female youth soccer development platform in the world. As part of the movement, the ECNL is encouraging amazing young women to share their stories. We are excited to announce Carolina Elite Soccer Academy (CESA) as the ECNL Amazing Young Woman Spotlight of the Week. We are recognizing CESA for their community outreach and efforts in giving back this holiday season.
For the past three years, CESA has taken part in giving back to the community over the winter holidays. This year, CESA’s ECNL program partnered with the Greenville Jaycees to provide presents for the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club. The Greenville Jaycees are a leadership development organization for young professionals that help members grow through community service, individual development and management events.
Members of the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club took buses to a Greenville Wal-Mart, where they met up with the CESA players. Each player was matched with kids from the Boys and Girls club and took them shopping for presents for their family. Around 150 kids from the Boys and Girls club participated in the event. The players from CESA represented all of the ECNL age groups, U14 through U18.
“This is a great opportunity for our players to see first-hand how important it is to spend time with kids in the community who do not have access to the resources that we all often take for granted,” said Andrew Hyslop, Co-Executive Director of CESA, about the annual event.
We wish all the CESA players a happy holiday! Thank you for being Amazing Young Women and sharing your story.
