ECNL College Impact – Conference USA
RICHMOND, VA (November 12, 2016) – Elite Clubs National League College Impact series catalogs the incredible impact the ECNL has had on college women’s soccer since its founding in 2009, and which increases every year. Across college soccer, the “ECNL player” is the epitome of the next generation collegiate soccer player and collegiate soccer star.
The ECNL College Impact is measured by the number of ECNL alumni that have moved on to collegiate soccer, and by their contribution to collegiate athletic conferences all over the United States. This week, the ECNL examines the Conference USA.
The ECNL College Impact for Conference USA includes all players currently active on C-USA rosters:
- 142 ECNL Alums are currently playing in the C-USA.
- The C-USA Midfielder of the Year, Samantha Chaiken, and C-USA Defensive Player of the Year, Jenny Fischera, are ECNL Alums.
- 73% of players from the C-USA First Team are ECNL Alums- 17 players on the C-USA First Team, Second Team and All-Rookie Team are ECNL Alums.
The C-USA includes University of Alabama Birmingham, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, Louisiana Tech University, Marshall University, Middle Tennessee State University, University of North Carolina Charlotte, University of North Texas, Old Dominion University, Rice University, University of Southern Mississippi, University of Texas at El Paso, University of Texas San Antonio and Western Kentucky University.

About Elite Clubs National League: The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) was founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience of female youth soccer players in the United States through: (i) improving the competitive environment through creation of a true national competitive league; (ii) improving the process for identifying elite female soccer players for college and youth national teams through a systematic scouting and identification program based on national competitions; and (iii) improving the daily training environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs.
