Elite Clubs National League Mission

  • July 1, 2016

ECNL_Logo_final_colorRICHMOND, VA (July 1, 2016) – Over the past years, the ECNL mission to improve the daily environment for elite female youth soccer players across the United States has been shortened to the phrases “ELEVATE THE GAME” and “RAISE THE GAME.”  These phrases reflect the constant pursuit of higher standards and greater excellence on and off the field for players, coaches, and clubs.  These phrases have been prominently displayed on ECNL fields, in social media, and in vision statements across the country, and have been adopted and internalized by clubs, players, and leaders inside and outside the league.  Through these three words, and the programs they reflect, the ECNL has changed the American youth female soccer paradigm.

Through collaboration with grass roots leaders, the ECNL has created an unprecedented female youth development platform – a national competition structure, regional and national player development programs, coaching development initiatives, and a Health & Education Resources (HER) program for female athletes.  The leadership, resources, and infrastructure of the ECNL have led American youth female soccer to new standards, and have shaped the next generation of American youth, college and international players and coaches.

The ECNL’s fundamental mission is not impacted or changed by external factors, or by other leagues and platforms.  The ECNL mission represents a focus on constant improvement, objective assessment, and a push for continual innovation in programming and development.  The ECNL mission reflects a total dedication to both support and challenge the member clubs, coaches, and players of the league in the pursuit of being better.

The vision and philosophy behind the ECNL mission is one of collaboration, respect, and freedom of choice – and has also been shared and disseminated widely.  This vision and philosophy has dramatically increased the collegial atmosphere in youth soccer, promoted exponentially more sharing of ideas and concepts across clubs, and strongly supported each club as they raised their standards in the ways uniquely appropriate to their community, and their vision.

The ECNL has changed the American youth female game, and the ECNL will continue to change the game – in collaboration with the leaders and organization that believe and support the ECNL mission, vision, and philosophy.  They are many, they are strong, and they are passionate.

In the coming month, we look forward to crowning the 2016 ECNL National Champions, celebrating the achievements of nearly 90 of the best players in the league at the 2016 ECNL National Training Camp, and opening the eighth season of the ECNL on August 1, 2016.  In the coming years, we look forward to continuing to support the clubs committed to the ECNL mission, vision and philosophy, continuing to RAISE THE GAME, and continuing to dramatically and positively shape the future of youth female soccer.
