RICHMOND, Va. (April 7, 2015) – The 2014-15 ECNL season is dedicated to celebrating the Amazing Young Women that have helped mold this league into the top female youth soccer platform in the world. As part of the campaign, the ECNL is encouraging amazing young women to share their stories. Hailie Mace is a current member of the Eagles SC ECNL U18 team, and member of the U20 US Youth National Team Pool. She attends Buena High School in Ventura, California where she plays both soccer and volleyball, and is committed to play soccer at UCLA next fall. The ECNL caught up with Hailie to learn more about her both on and off the field.
Q: What is your favorite US Youth National Team memory so far?
A: My favorite memory was finding out that m y roommate and I both like Nickelback and Daughtry! What are the odds?
Q: Do you have any siblings?
A: I have a younger brother and sister
Q: What is your favorite ECNL Event and why?
A: My favorite ECNL Event was ECNL Seattle because the weather was nice and that was when I first bonded with my team J
Q: What is in your purse/backpack at this very moment?
A: I have my wallet, school stuff, water bottle and food
Q: What is your biggest strength as a soccer player?
A: My biggest strength is that I am fast and versatile, I can play any position
Q: Do you have any superstitions?
A: I don’t have any
Q: What is something most people do not know about you?
A: Most people do not know that I still sleep with a blanket that I have had since I was 6 years old
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “Take Pride in how far you have come. Have faith in how far you can go.”
Q: What is the ideal weather you prefer to play soccer in?
A: I prefer to play in cold weather, but not the rain.

A: I have two: Ally Courtnall and Alex Morgan
